Dark times have spread over the world of Gaia. Four separate governing nations, some blinded by their short-sighted greed, some persevering in the name of justice, are battling on and off in a deadly game for power. One kingdom, that of Lindblum, headed by the honorable and trustworthy Regent Cid, finally decides to take a stand against the unspeakable massacres by the troops of Alexandria.
Enlisting the aid of mere bandits to kidnap Princess Garnet of the Alexandria Empire, for information and interrogation, Garnet and her bodyguard actually join Cid's cause, knowing full well the outlandish recklessness of the governing Queen, who counterattacks with an onslaught of warriors. Thus begins a crossfire that would engulf the world in something far worse than political standoffs.
Out of the band of thieves, one boy along with his entourage must battle his way through several awe-inspiring challenges to restore order and peace.

PS FFIX Game (2009-03-23)
I loved this game when I first played it when it was a new release. When my son started liking FF games, I had to purchase all the Final Fantasy games that I had played so he can play them, he really enjoys playing this game.
Lives up and adds lots more to live up to (2009-03-17)
I've played just about every Final Fantasy game, several of them multiple times, and this one still amazes me.
Negatives:
-Battles are, a lot of the time, a bit sluggish. The system is fine, but the ready meters go more slowly than in any of the other Final Fantasies, and each command will have an annoyingly empty delay before happening.
-The final villain and the entire idea of the crystal seem to jump out of nowhere, kind of off-track, it seems.
-Quinna falls way short of all the other characters, in terms of skill and character development. The others are very well balanced. She's not.
-A few themes in the soundtrack are repeated(remixed) a few times too many.
-Have to say it again: Some of the normal battles are just too long.
Positives:
-Great graphics, design, dungeons, towns, world-map, FMVs and everything.
-Good sound, with neat effects, good timing and one of the most fun Final Fantasy soundtracks(despite the remixing of so many themes).
-An awesome, compelling story. It's one of the most straightforward Final Fantasy stories but also one of the most unique.
-Final Fantasy IX has great characters. The characters are in fact the highlight of the game. They are all unique, in terms of skills and in terms of personalities, and the Active Time Events really bring them out. They interact more interestingly than in any previous Final Fantasy, really moving into new storytelling territory.
-This game has one of the best FF difficulty levels, with easy enough level-ups and hard enough bosses. Good for any RPGamer
-LOTS TO DO. Final Fantasy IX not only has a great world to explore, but some of the best FF mini-games, THE best Chocobo system and TONS of treasures waiting to be stolen, won and dug up.
Overall: It's a great game. The fantasy elements are amazing, the characters, gameplay and design work together almost flawlessly. This game has plenty of impact on a first playing and keeps its replay value very well. Easily one of the best Final Fantasies and one of the best RPGs period.
Talk about a Deal...FF 9 for less than 20 bucks!!! (2009-03-15)
This game is a classic! For a game that is almost 10 years old...The graphics are great, the cutscenes well done and cinematic. The Fighting is old school but still fun in 2009. The story is somewhat typical of RPG's from that time , but the characters themselves are well developed and fun. Comparatively, FF8, I found that I did not care for any of the Characters in the end..FF9 is different. To me this is definately and improvment over FF8. I am hoping that FFX is even better (No, I have not played it yet...I was starting from FF IV and building my way up.)
Very much worth the hours you'll put in Kupo!
I never really know what to put here... (2009-03-12)
This game reminded me a lot of Final Fantasy 7. Grant it...the graphics and CG were much better, but the play, IMO, was very similar. There were parts of the World Map that I found rather difficult to navigate, but, as an avid FF player for the past 15 years, I loved it regardless.
Still think that this is a must have for any RPG gamer or FF lover.
Easily one of the most underrated FF games (2009-03-10)
It's truly an epic and exhilarating game. Don't let anybody tell you otherwise. True FF fans will buy this game and love it.
